We get caught up in cycles, where everything just works, and then where nothing works.
So we experience euphoria or being miserable.
Why does this happen?
Mainly because at the one end things go our way. Our expectations are met. When what we are feeling oscillates the other way, you can be sure, things aren’t going our way. Our expectations aren’t met.
Do our lives have to be this way?
No!
We can create our lives differently.
First, let’s stand back to observe these two dynamics at play.
Can we of course create circumstances so they always work out? So our expectations are always met? Though this approach might work for varying periods, it is flawed.
That means our state of being is dependent on things working out.
Secondly, if our state of being is conditional, it implies we aren’t whole. We aren’t content. We aren’t at peace. We don’t live in a state of peacefulness.
We only achieve this when things go our way, when our expectations are met.
However, is it possible to change this?
That our state of being becomes unconditional?
Therefore that no matter what, our state of being does not oscillate between euphoria and being miserable? So whether things go our way or not or whether our expectations are met or not, our state of contentment and peacefulness stays unaffected?
Surely this isn’t possible? Or is it?
It is!
To achieve it is accompanied by levels of maturity generally unseen in humankind.
It brings levels of self-confidence, self-esteem, assertiveness usually unseen in humankind.
How? It starts with uncovering our self-chosen life purpose and then living it.
Careful now: There is a pitfall. We associate living our life purpose with doing something specific. That is not the case. Our life purpose is about a state of being: An unconditional state of being, an internally found state of being.
Once uncovered and after we’ve shifted to living our life purpose, everything else flows from that state of being. The first of which is that we stop looking externally of ourselves for things. Say to make us happy or for finding peacefulness.
The second thing is, our choices are different. We choose because we are free of the fear of the possible consequences. They do not elicit fear in us, the fear that previously dictated our choices. We are thus free to choose and do, and we make choices based on our newfound state of being.
